Red Block-Paved Driveway Cleaning — South East Kent

This large block-paved driveway had green growth in the joints and a faded-looking surface. The herringbone pattern was still visible, but the dirt and growth were taking attention away from the red tones of the blocks. I was asked to clean the driveway and bring the paving back into clearer view.

I cleaned the block paving and removed the green growth and surface build-up. On an area this size, the difference is easiest to see across the whole driveway rather than in one small patch. The after photograph shows the red tones more clearly and the herringbone pattern standing out against the cleaner joints.

The colour change here came from cleaning the existing paving. I did not need to describe it as a new surface to explain the result: the red blocks were already there underneath the dull appearance. The before and after views show that change on the same driveway, with the original layout still in place.

Joints matter as well as the face of each block. Green growth between the blocks can make an otherwise sound-looking driveway feel neglected, so clearing that build-up is an important part of the overall appearance. The photographs show the cleaning result; they do not establish a separate re-sanding stage for this particular job.

For suitable conventional sand-jointed block paving, replacement kiln-dried sand and re-sanding are included in my normal quoted cleaning service. Permeable paving needs its specified jointing aggregate instead, so I check the paving type before agreeing that work.
