Terms & Conditions
1. Who we are
These terms apply to services provided by Coastal Clean Exterior Cleaning ("Coastal Clean"), an owner-operated exterior cleaning business.
2. Quotations
The written quotation sets out the agreed work and the total price. It is based on the information and photographs provided by the customer. If the actual surface, size, condition or access on site turns out to be materially different, any change to the work or price is discussed with the customer before extra work is carried out.
3. Acceptance
Acceptance of the quotation may be confirmed in writing — by message, email or the contact form.
4. Scope of work
Only the work set out in the accepted quotation is included. Anything additional needs to be agreed separately.
5. Customer access and preparation
The customer is responsible for providing reasonable access to the working area, including gates and access routes as agreed. Vehicles, garden furniture, pots, ornaments and fragile items should be moved where requested before the visit.
6. Water and utilities
An outside water supply is normally required. If that is not available it should be raised at quote stage so a workable arrangement can be agreed.
7. Windows, doors, children and pets
Windows and doors must remain closed during exterior cleaning work. Children and pets should be kept away from the working area until any aftercare guidance has been followed.
8. Existing damage
Coastal Clean is not responsible for pre-existing damage such as loose or broken paving, damaged pointing, sinking, cracks, damaged gutters, fascias or windows. Customers are asked to disclose known drainage issues, damaged surfaces or other defects before the visit. Cleaning may reveal existing colour differences, wear or damage that were previously hidden.
9. Cleaning results and stains
Coastal Clean carries out the agreed work with reasonable care and skill using a method considered suitable for the surface. Cleaning can make a major improvement but complete removal of rust, oil, paint, mineral marks, permanent staining, weathering or discolouration cannot be guaranteed.
10. Weeds and organic regrowth
Weed and moss removal is part of the clean but does not permanently prevent regrowth. Ongoing maintenance remains the customer's responsibility.
11. Block paving and re-sanding
Every block-paving clean includes cleaning, replacement kiln-dried jointing sand and the re-sanding work in the quoted price. Re-sanding is not an optional extra. The paving must be sufficiently dry before replacement sand can be applied. If it cannot dry enough on the cleaning day, re-sanding is completed on a separate suitable dry day at no extra charge. Replacement sand does not apply to concrete, tarmac, resin-bound surfacing, porcelain, sandstone slabs, concrete slabs or paving with fixed pointing.
12. Weather
Exterior cleaning is weather-dependent. Coastal Clean may rearrange a booking where the weather would compromise safety, the finished result, drying or re-sanding. Reasonable notice is given wherever possible.
13. Drainage and runoff
Cleaning runoff is considered as part of the work, but existing blocked or defective drainage is not repaired as part of standard cleaning.
14. Waste
Collected debris and waste remain on site unless removal has been specifically agreed in the quotation.
15. Payment
Payment is due according to the accepted quotation.
16. Photographs
Project photographs may be used for marketing only where suitable permission has been given or another lawful basis applies.
17. Concerns
Any concerns about the work should be raised as soon as possible — by phone on 07518 383 675 or by email at coastalclean.uk@gmail.com — so they can be discussed and, where appropriate, addressed.
18. Liability
Coastal Clean carries public liability insurance appropriate to the work undertaken. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
19. Privacy
Personal information provided when requesting a quote is used to respond to the enquiry and to carry out any agreed work. See the Privacy Policy for further detail.
20. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
