Concrete Driveway & Slab Cleaning in South East Kent
Concrete driveways, concrete paving slabs, paths and other suitable exterior concrete can usually be cleaned back to a far more even, tidier finish — within the limits of the surface itself.

What cleaning removes
Surface build-up is what comes away: general dirt, algae and green growth, moss in the joints, and the grubby film that gathers over the years. On a sound surface the difference is usually very noticeable.
Condition matters more than age
An old but sound driveway often cleans beautifully, while a newer one that is already spalling or crumbling will not. Where the surface has started to break down, cleaning tidies it but does not restore it, and any loose material may lift.
Marks that may not lift
Oil, rust, paint, tyre marks and similar staining can be reduced but often will not clear completely, because they have soaked into a porous surface rather than sitting on it. Send close-up photographs and you will get a straight assessment before anything is booked.
What cleaning cannot do
- · Cracks, spalling, erosion and failed joints are not repaired.
- · Oil, rust, paint and other permanent marks may not lift fully.
- · Loose or crumbling concrete may come away and the damage can look more obvious once clean.
- · Cleaning does not prevent moss, algae or weeds returning over time.
Common questions
Will cleaning get rid of oil stains?
Sometimes it lifts a good deal of it, but old oil that has soaked into concrete often leaves a shadow. No honest quote will promise full removal from a photograph alone.
Can you clean concrete that is cracked or flaking?
Cleaning can still tidy the area, but it will not repair cracks, spalling or crumbling surfaces — and where concrete is already breaking up, cleaning can make the damage more obvious.
Do concrete slabs need re-sanding afterwards?
No. Replacement kiln-dried jointing sand applies to block paving, which has sand-filled joints. Concrete slabs with mortar or fixed joints are not re-sanded.
